The basin, or bed warmer, is an old household utensil that was often found in the countryside until the 1950s in Europe. It was a small basin with a perforated lid, made of metal (usually copper, a good conductor of heat and easy to shape), at the end of a 40 cm to 1.20 m handle. In the evening, before going to bed, the inhabitants took embers from the hearth, the stove or the stove, put them in the basin and passed it inside the beds to warm them.
Today, it finds a new function with its E27 socket in gilded metal, its bulb with copper cap and to fix it to the back various brass elements and a rosette in gilded metal.
If however, you do not have an electrical source nearby, I can transform it into a portable wall lamp with a wire of your choice.
Magic light on a white wall!
